What is a LIFE program ?

Launched in 1992, Life "the EU's funding for the environment" is one of the main financial tools used in the European Union to contribute to the implementation, updating and development of EU environmental and climate policy and legislation. It supports projects throughout the European Union for the conservation of the environment and nature.

LIFE+ Nature and Biodiversity is one of the main strands of the European Union’s funding programme for the environment. It supports projects that contribute to the implementation of the EU's Birds and Habitats Directives, the Natura 2000 network and that contribute to the EU's goal of halting the loss of biodiversity. In this framework, the LIFE program "Jura Peatlands" is funded at 50% by the European Union.
