Conference "Peatlands, finally water for a new development"

Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 8 pm House of the Reserve - Labergement-Sainte-Marie
Admission free - from 14 years

Discover the peatlands, these emblematic environments of the Jura mountain, by their link with water and our climate. Water is essential to the survival of peatlands. But the converse is true. Peatlands are very important elements of the water cycle of our mountains. The past human activities have often hampered them. Faced with the importance of these environments, in the light of announced climate changes, ambitious means are being implemented to restore them. These approaches are recent and experimentation is still important.

This one-hour conference followed by discussions was led by Philippe Grosvernier, Swiss specialist in the restoration of peatlands, Geneviève Magnon (Syndicat Mixte des Aquatiques du Haut-Doubs) and Pierre Durlet (Haut-Jura Regional Nature Park) who work for their structures to restore these environments.
